Retirements 

This is advance notice that two of our long-serving Ancora General Practitioners will be retiring at the end of September - Dr James Taylor and Dr Tehmina Mubarika. We know they will be missed by many of you, but am sure you will join us in wishing them a long, healthy and happy retirement. 

 

New General Practitioners

We are happy to annouce that Dr Anam Abrar joined Ancora Medical Practice in April 2024, please help us to welcome her to the practice.

Dr A Abdelnaby who has been with us since August 2023 training as a General Practitioner, has recently qualified and we are excited that he will be joining the Ancora team in August 2024. Congratulations to Dr A Abdelnaby and welcome!

Nurses

All of the nurses within the practice have wide experience and receive regular update training. Our Practice Nurses are available on an appointment system at both surgeries Monday to Friday.

Nurse Associates

The nursing associate is a clinical support role that bridges the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses. Created to deliver hands-on, person-centred care as part of nursing teams.

HCA’s support the nurses in the baby clinics and run their own healthcare clinics where they can perform phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, weight and height checks, diabetic foot checks, smoking cessation, ECG’s, suture removal and wound management. We also offer all new patients health screens that are performed by the HCAs.

Reception and Administration

There are 30 reception and admin staff across both surgeries. They are trained to assist you in making appointments to see the doctor, undertake repeat prescriptions and to offer help and assistance at all times. The administration team includes staff with responsibility for requesting reports from other agencies and the updates of information on the computer. It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patient records is maintained at the highest level by all staff. There are three part-time secretaries who are based at Ashby Road but all admin and secretarial staff work for both surgeries.

Helen has worked as a Psychosocial Practitioner for nearly 20 years at the Specialist Substance Misuse service and Shared Care service in GP surgeries across North Lincolnshire.
